"Does this make any sense?"
Snapping from his thoughts, Axel glared at the slip of paper barely brushing the tip of his nose. The words were blurred and sorted into strange looking paragraphs so two columns were able to fit on the one side. Wrinkles masked the surface as well demonstrating what mistreatment it had endured to be shown.
"I can't see it from this close idiot!" He snapped, shoving the warm body residing just two feet in front of him. The figure stumbled before a toothy grin lightened the slightly tanned features.

She felt nothing. Falling as she was, her body near to crashing to the blotch of fuzzy tan marking the surface, she felt nothing akin to fear. The white light that had previously settled around her like a halo blinked in and out of existence to finally allow a trickle of emotion to surface. There was still no fear, only curiosity.

There was only one rule: Never shall one befriend an Angel less the title Demon be stripped from their being. It was created by the Council themselves, a noble group of powerful Demons who ruled their species with loyalty and generosity. They were the reason the common Underworld was as prosperous as it was, why Demons flourished with every step.

The Rule itself was true, been commanded amongst the lurkers of the Underworld since well over a thousand years ago. As for the Council, those cowardly pests "ran" their species into the ground. For them, loyalty could be spit-ball
